Brain Wave

EEG (Electroencephalogram) signals are generated continuously from the human brain. Our research focuses on Alpha waves — the frequencies associated with relaxation, stress relief, and improved learning efficiency.

Brain waves are categorised by the brain's active state, and each frequency range has distinct effects on cognition and mood.

We develop simulation-based education programs using standardised patients and interactive serious games to train healthcare workers in Psychological First Aid (PFA).

Our online-based disaster PFA serious games are designed to teach psychological first aid skills across various disaster scenarios through indirect experiential learning.

Binaural Beat

Binaural beats are an auditory processing technique that modulates brainwave activity by presenting different frequencies to each ear simultaneously. The brain perceives the difference as a third frequency, naturally shifting its activity state.

Binaural beats require headphones or stereo speakers positioned close to both ears. Our lab integrates binaural beat technology into mobile apps, particularly the Mind Therapy app, combined with neurofeedback for stress and PTSD management.
